  1. Andy Sernovitz Says:

This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

I love that you started with the big one: Honest Marketing Makes More Money

  2. Lisa Randolph (Community Manager) Says:

Andy, thanks for commenting! I’m glad that Jeff and his team discussed your book. Since I’m not eligible to win the copy they’re giving away, I’m definitely going to buy it. :)

  3. Andy LaFlamme Says:

Great discussion, I definitely think that honest discussion about your brand with your members/customers is a good thing. Even if its a complaint or concern. The negative discussion is happening whether or not you are participating. Being involved in the discussion can help you rectify the situation and can turn that negative story into a “wow, they actually cared about my concern or compliant” story.

  4. Lisa Randolph (Community Manager) Says:

Andy, that’s a great response. I think in this sense, it all goes back to transparency. I believe that your customers/members appreciate knowing what’s going on, even if what you share with them is bad news.

  5. Jeff Stephens Says:

If there’s any doubt that Andy Sernovitz’s principles of word of mouth marketing work, remember this: this podcast was a direct result of Andy following his own advice. He sent us a copy of his book and asked us to read and review it. The result? Here we are podcasting about his book….exactly the result he was looking for.

WOM works! Thanks to both Andy’s, and to Lisa, for the great discussion!

  6. Andy LaFlamme Says:

Jeff, your exactly right, and your podcast has me excited to read the book, which I will most likely pass on to a couple people here at my credit union, and hopefully on and on and on from there. Its a brilliant marketing technique with a powerful outcome if done right.
